Art Classes at Surroundings Art Gallery
Summer 2009
Want to have more fun while you are in the Sandwich area this summer? Surroundings is offering several art classes which will accommodate the first timer as well as those who have some experience in painting. So if you want to do more while in the area, Surroundings is the place to be.
Class Descriptions: Each class is tailored to the interests of the students, but generally include a demonstration, discussion, practice time, and individual feedback. You can be a beginner or experienced artist for these classes. The techniques and instruction will apply to all levels. The instructor can tailor the discussion and help to any level of expertise.
Class Times: The classes will be held from 9am – noon at the Gallery.
Cost: The cost varies by class and is listed below for each class. A 10% discount from the course price is provided for any additional class you attend.
Supplies: The price of the class is based on you bringing your own supplies. However, a small starter kit will be available for those who prefer not to bring their supplies. Some supplies can be bought on an a la carte basis. For the oil workshops, turpenoid will be available for cleaning brushes.
Class Size: The oil workshop will be limited to 6 students and the watercolor workshops to 8 students . The minimum requirement will be 3 students for the class to take place.

June 29-July 2: Four Day Watercolor Workshop: Instructor: Karel Hayes; Cost $180
Aug 3,4,6 (M,T,Th): Three Day Watercolor Workshop: Instructor: Terri Brooks; Cost: $135
Aug 17,18,20 (M,T,Th): Three Day Oil Workshop: Instructor: Celia Judge; Cost: $140
