My paintings are small watercolors, non-academic, naive and eccentric. The subjects are landscapes, houses, animals and flowers, often in whimsical combination. I seek to convey a sense of gaiety and incongruity in stylized representations of daily life and a nostalgic vision of a time when life was simpler. I’m most satisfied when my work makes the viewer smile.
I also paint house portraits on commission and have done several hundred primarily in and around the Boston, Massachusetts area.
The frames for my paintings, custom made by the resident handyman, my lawyer husband, are also grain painted to complement the paintings.
My paintings have been shown in small galleries and shops in the New England area for a number of years. I have also sold my work at the annual juried auction at the Mass College of Art in Boston.
