I graduated from the University of Tampa, Florida with a degree in fine arts. Upon graduating I began working in the field of art as a professional picture framer and advertising design artist. Marriage and travel abroad took me away from New Hampshire for several years but upon returning I purchased my own frame shop and gallery in the Lakes Region. Owning a business kept me from producing a lot of art, but I did find time to create and sell a few watercolors and oil paintings from my own shop. The sale of that business allowed me to focus more on my art work and as I experimented with new methods and materials I found pastels worked best for me. They allow me to use my drawing skills, but in a very painterly way. I like a reduced color palette and I like to focus on the shapes within the painting, to create the mood that I want. I now focus mostly on landscapes. There is no shortage of beautiful scenery here in central New Hampshire..
