Cam Sinclair resides in New Hampshire and has been a public school guidance counselor for the past thirty years. His first love, however, is painting. Finding time to paint is Cam’s biggest challenge as he also coaches soccer and wrestling. Sinclair specializes in landscapes and works in oils and oil pastels. He is a self-taught artist and didn’t take up painting until after he graduated from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts with a Masters Degree in Psychology in 1971.
Painting on Sundays and in the summer months, Cam has transformed himself into an award-winning artist at numerous art shows. He has won “Best in Show” at a number or art shows in the past twenty years as well as many 2nd place and Honorable Mention awards.
Cam,’s love of the rural New England landscape is evident in his artwork as he strives to capture the different moods and lighting of the ever-changing mountains, fields, streams, and valleys. His work is influenced by the French Impressionists and a little known American artist named William Watson.
Cam’s work caught the eye of an art critic from the Boston Globe Newspaper who described his smaller paintings as “Impressionistic jewels.”
Cam was born in Shanghai, China and spent most of his youth growing up in Bombay, India. He is married and has three grown children, and looks forward to the day when he can spend all of his time as an artist.
